The BlueCat Short Film Festival is currently accepting submissions for its 2019 festival. Selected films will screen in Los Angeles at the Landmark Theatre on April 30th, 2019. Awards will be given at the festival in the following categories: Best Short Best Director Best Script Best Performance Our inaugural 2018 lineup included: Ablution Directed by Omar Al Dakheel Bad News Directed by Alicia MacDonald Casey Directed by Shanrica Evans Cowboy Town Directed by Jennifer Boles Do No Harm Directed by Marielle Woods Mite-y Beard Directed by Sarah-Leigh Burger Special Feature Directed by Steve Sears Spinosaurus Directed by Tessa Hoffe The Eleven O’Clock Directed by Derin Seale Towards the Sun Directed by Monica Santis Since placing in BlueCat's Short Film festival, our finalists have gone on to receive other prestigious achievements: The Eleven O'Clock, directed by Derin Seale, was nominated for an Oscar in 2018 for Best Live Action Short Film. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt6023474/ New Zealand Filmmaker, Tessa Hoffe (winner of BSFF), has placed in over six festivals for her short film Spinosaurus. https://www.tessahoffe.com/ UK Filmmaker, Alicia MacDonald, won Gold at the Young Directors Award in Cannes Lions for her short film Bad News. http://www.missinglinkfilms.co.uk/alicia-macdonald Ablution, Directed by Omar Al Dakheel, won the best LGBT film award at Bolton Film Festival and has been the official selection in several other festivals.
